Busy. And wordy. Very wordy.

Every time I log on to make a new post here, I think to myself, "This is it - I'm going to start posting more often now - it starts TONIGHT." And then, I get busy with all kinds of more important, but less relaxing, things like finding the women's performance fleece mock 1/2 zip in electric blue in a size XXL for a customer who needs it NOW. Oh, wait - that's not more important than my hobbies and interests, is it?

I'm torn. I LOVE Christmas - it's definitely my favorite time of year, but working in retail during the "Holiday Season" twists my innards into an unrecognizable pulp of agony and delight. Why do people get exponentially more STUPID during Christmas? What is it about gift shopping that makes people turn into absolutely vile and disgusting pigs, throwing merchandise all over the floor, pushing and sneering and harumph-ing, just so they can get the sweatshirt they need for $2 cheaper than usual? Why?

At the same time, though, I revel in the decorations, the snow, the cold, the atmosphere of Christmas everywhere outside of the Gap. Last time I made the trek to Michael's craft store, I spent about 40 minutes browsing in the Christmas aisles (and this was before Halloween, for goodness sakes!). Why do I have to have a job that I loathe during a time of year that I adore? I worked two shifts on Black Friday, because our store opened at midnight, and then I came in to close that night as well (13 hours, all told), and I came home feeling so depleted that I could hardly handle putting my pajama pants on one leg at a time. Why?

Okay, the rant is over. Wait - one more thing - why in the world would an electric toothbrush have to cost almost $90? NINETY DOLLARS? Are you kidding me? It's a toothbrush! Nevertheless, I have a brand spanking new Sonicare toothbrush now, and I'm very wary of using it. Am I the only one who finds the human mouth downright yucky?

Seriously, though, it's time for bed. I have to be back at work at 6am tomorrow morning. I wish I had some new projects to show off, but that will have to wait. I just put the finishing touches on an oh-so-cozy wool blend scarflette that is so beautiful, I may have to keep it. But we'll see how that goes. Then, I have two projects that need to be blocked, and need buttons added and seams seamed up, and those will be ready to show, as well.

I love knitting.
