By the way

If you ever plan on watching "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya" (and you absolutely should), please make sure to do so in broadcast order. If you do not heed my warning, you WILL be disappointed. You see, the series originally aired its episodes in non-chronological order, but the DVD releases, for some idiotic reason, put the episodes in chronological order, in which case the original "final" episode will be episode six. While it may make a bit more sense as you are watching it, viewing the episodes this way will be a huge let-down, and will ruin the ending. If you must watch them in chronological order, don't be disappointed when you feel deflated after watching the sixth episode, and don't feel angry when you get a majorly anticlimactic ending.

How, you ask, am I able to impart these pearls of wisdom? Well, as you may have guessed, I made the mistake of watching the series in chronological order (excepting Episode 00, which comes first no matter what). Actually, I didn't know about the weird broadcasting order when I first saw the series, and I was amazed by how dull and anticlimactic the ending of the series was. I have since watched the series in broadcast order, and I loved it infinitely more.

Incidentally, this is one instance in dubbed anime where I actually prefer the American version (apart from the debacle that was Sohma Yuki's Japanese seiyuu. He was terrible! Eric Vale had him nailed in the American version, though) . Crispin Freeman is always one of my favorite voice actors, but he was made to play Kyon, and he is brilliant. Very different from the Japanese portrayal, but I actually prefer it (instead of being the stereotypical, nerdy pervert that make up most of the anime protagonist base in this genre, Crispin Freeman plays Kyon as a cynical, disinterested, and almost painfully normal boy. Perfection).

Wow. Digress, much?

Anyway, my point was, that you should definitely watch "Haruhi Suzumiya," you should definitely watch it in broadcast order, and don't be averse to watching the American dub. Maybe I should simply have said that in the first place?

Back from Oblivion

I finished the accidental fanart that I posted about before, and it's now up for sale:
I don't like it, but maybe someone else will. I also put up this little girl:

I like the 3D necklace that she's wearing, and I like that she looks kind of pissed. I'm still debating whether or not to put up a boy that I just finished the other night. I really like him, but I definitely won't do anything with him if I keep him, so you'll probably see him in a day or two.

Anyway, if you are interested in purchasing either of these little drawings, drag your butt over to my little shop and make a move!

I think it's about time for some hot chocolate now, don't you?

Well, oops...

Don't you hate when you set out to do something, but it turns into something else completely inadvertently? I started this doodle last night, intending for it to be a guy being pissed at someone in profile, but it turned into something ... else. It turned into Yuki and Shuichi from the BL anime Gravitation (which, by the way, is amazing, and now one of my favorites ever. Duane, you would HATE it).

That show has really gotten into me so much in the last few days, after having watched the whole series one day, and the OVA the next. It's so sweet and funny and dark, plus Yuki is possibly my favorite anime character of all time (sorry, Shigure, you have competition). He's such a dick - he's perverted, rude, cold, moody and mean - but he's brilliant, and he loves Shuichi so much.

Gotta love fairytales, right? I wish things that existed in cartoons could be real. But, even if they can't be, it's still kind of comforting to dream.

By the way, I hate the picture I drew. I may or may not finish it. The one on the left (Yuki, if you will) has a badly-proportioned face, and the hairline is so wrong, it's not even amusing. Maybe I'll color it to NOT look like Yuki and Shu, and it won't be so bad. Or, maybe I'll add in their left hands with their wedding rings, and just be a completely pathetic fangirl.

Oh, well. I'm off now to try again at drawing someone being pissed. Wish me luck.

Alright. My computer is back, after numerous problems (resulting in a new motherboard and a wipe-and-reinstall of my operating system, because of a factory default), and I'm finally feeling better after having all of my wisdom teeth removed last week (WHOA was that uncomfortable), so I'm making the first new post in over a month!

I feel bad about the long break from the bloggy-world, so I plan on putting up some pictures of new projects this week to make up for it.

Anyway, I'm getting back into computer-life one little toe at a time, so I think I'll call it quits for now. Also, I have to try and rebuild my favorites list from scratch. Bummer.

Goodnight, BlogLand.
